Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said all 9.92 lakh ration-card families will get free festive items from ration shops within seven days. Each family receives 2 kg of flour and 1 kg of sugar, and poorer households also get 500 g of semolina. The Rs 9 crore scheme began on Friday. The minister rejected CPI(M) criticism about supplies.
A team of 80 Mog community artists from Tripura's Sangrrain Dance Academy, led by Raju Mog, will perform their traditional dance and music at the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on October 31.
